About Down The Aisle Bridal

DTA Bridal began in 1994, when I was preparing for my own wedding. I was horrified by the prices of bridal veils offered in local bridal shops in the Washington DC area. To save money, I tried my hand at making my own bridal veil - and discovered I have a real talent for making bridal headwear.

In 1995, I opened Down the Aisle Custom Veils. Working from my home in the suburbs of Washington DC, I began to offer a selection of headpieces and veils to Maryland brides. My business flourished as brides discovered they didn't have to pay the outrageous prices bridal stores typically charge.

Times change, as do the styles. Today's bride is looking for less of a princess look, and for a more sophisticated yet easily accomplished look without the undue expense. Hair jewelry is poised to become the accessory of choice for brides all over the world, rather than large, bulky headpieces and veils. “Look like yourself” is the mantra for today's bride. With hair jewelry, women everywhere can accent themselves with luxurious touches without breaking the bank.

Now, 15 years after opening my business, this website is my wish to offer high quality, low cost hair jewelry to brides across the country and around the world. Down The Aisle bridal is owned by me, not some huge conglomerate- proud to be in business since 1995, and eager to provide you with the best hair pins, combs, and twist-ins available on the Internet.

I am available to you anytime, to answer your questions or just offer an opinion. Please feel free to contact me at: maura_foster -at- dtabridal.com

If you are in the Maryland / DC / Virginia area, please consider donating wedding decorations, apparel, and anything else that could be reused for a wedding to St. Anthony's bridal , a local non profit that supplies brides in need with wedding dresses, accessories, and even reception items like tablecloths and silverware. They are a wonderful organization, and would be thrilled to receive your gently used items.
